BMW N47 & B47 Turboinlet – Bionically Optimized High-Flow Inlet for 16d, 18d & 20d Models

Our high-flow turboinlet for BMW N47 and B47 diesel engines was developed to specifically optimize the airflow between the intake system and the turbocharger. By using modern CFD flow simulations and a bionically optimized internal geometry, flow-related losses compared to the series intake system could be significantly reduced.

The optimized airflow ensures a more homogeneous flow to the turbocharger, reduces turbulence in the intake tract, and creates the basis for more efficient air throughput. Especially in performance-optimized vehicles and with increased air demand, the improved flow characteristics can play to their strengths.

Additionally, the standard resonance chamber of the air filter box is deactivated. For this purpose, we supply a precisely fitting cover cap, which further optimizes the airflow path and can further reduce pressure loss.

Bionic flow optimization

During the development of our turboinlet, the focus was on the flow quality within the intake tract. Using modern CFD simulations, the critical areas of the series component were analyzed and specifically optimized.

The bionically inspired geometry is based on natural flow forms and enables a more controlled airflow to the turbocharger. This reduces turbulence and guides the air mass more uniformly to the compressor.

Optimized air supply to the turbocharger

Efficient air supply is the basis for powerful supercharging. Due to the revised geometry, the airflow is guided to the turbocharger with less loss, and the flow conditions within the intake tract are improved.

Especially in the lower and middle speed ranges, this can be noticeable through more direct response and faster boost pressure build-up.

Resonance chamber delete included

The scope of delivery includes a suitable cover cap for deactivating the standard resonance chamber in the air filter box.

By eliminating this additional resonance volume, the airflow is simplified and the intake tract is further optimized. At the same time, a more direct intake characteristic is created.

High-quality manufacturing from PA12 and PU

The turboinlet consists of a high-strength PA12 hard component, which is manufactured using industrial 3D printing. The system is supplemented by a specially manufactured PU molded hose with a Shore hardness of A65.

This material combination ensures high dimensional stability, temperature resistance, and a long service life even under demanding operating conditions.

Plug-&-Play installation

All connections and mounting points comply with the OEM specifications of the BMW N47 and B47 engines. Installation is done without adjustments and can be carried out directly at the original connection points.

Delivery time

Our products are usually ready for shipment within 2-3 business days, if in stock.

If an item is not available due to high demand or supply bottlenecks, production will be carried out using the high-quality PA12 3D printing process. In this case, the delivery time is up to 3 weeks.

Not suitable for vehicles with B47 or N47 25d engines (225d, 325d, 425d, 525d as well as other 25d models).

For 25d engines with a different charging configuration, we offer a separate turboinlet.

It is not approved for use in public road traffic within the scope of the StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Use is exclusively for motorsport purposes, for export vehicles, or outside public roads.

The installation of this product can lead to the expiration of the vehicle's operating license according to §19 StVZO.

An acceptance according to §21 StVZO (individual approval) may be possible in individual cases, but must be clarified in advance with a testing organization (e.g., TÜV or DEKRA).
