BMW B57 Turbo Inlet from Model Year 2020 – Bionically Optimized High-Flow Inlet
Maximum Flow Efficiency for Latest Generation BMW B57 Engines
Our high-flow turbo inlet for BMW B57 diesel engines of the revised generation from model year 2020 was developed to specifically optimize the airflow between the intake system and the turbocharger. By using modern CFD flow simulations and a bionically optimized internal geometry, flow-related losses could be reduced and the flow to the compressor improved.
Compared to the standard intake component, the turbo inlet offers more efficient airflow with reduced pressure loss and an enlarged usable flow cross-section. The air mass can thus be directed to the turbocharger more smoothly and with fewer losses, which offers advantages particularly in performance-optimized vehicles and those with increased air demand.
The bionic geometry is based on natural flow principles and was specifically designed to minimize turbulence within the intake tract. This results in a more homogeneous flow to the compressor and an overall more efficient air supply to the engine.
Advantages at a glance
- Bionically flow-optimized internal geometry
- Reduced pressure losses in the intake tract
- Optimized airflow to the turbocharger
- More homogeneous flow to the compressor
- Improved air supply with increased air demand
- More direct throttle response
- Faster turbocharger reaction
- Plug-&-Play installation
- High-quality manufacturing from PA12
- High temperature resistance
- Oil, fuel, and chemical resistance
- Suitable for production vehicles and performance-optimized applications
Bionic Flow Optimization
The development is based on extensive CFD simulations and flow analyses. The goal was to guide the air to the turbocharger with as little loss as possible and in a controlled manner.
The bionically inspired geometry reduces turbulence within the intake tract and ensures a more even distribution of the air mass. This supports more efficient operation of the compressor and improves flow quality compared to the standard solution.
Optimized Air Supply to the Turbocharger
A stable and consistent air supply is the basis for efficient supercharging. The revised geometry allows the air mass to be guided to the compressor with fewer losses.
Especially in vehicles with software optimization or increased air demand, the advantage of a flow-optimized intake system is particularly evident. The turbocharger is supplied more consistently and can work more efficiently.
High-quality manufacturing from PA12
The turbo inlet is manufactured using a high-resolution industrial 3D printing process from high-quality PA12.
This material is characterized by high dimensional stability, excellent temperature resistance, and high resistance to oil, fuel, and the thermal stresses of modern diesel engines.
Plug-&-Play Installation
All connection and mounting points comply with OEM specifications. The turbo inlet can be replaced with the original component without any modifications.
Installation is plug & play using the standard connection points.

Important note
For BMW B57 engines from model year 2020, different turbo inlet versions were installed depending on the model, emission standard, and low-pressure EGR.
Please check before ordering whether your original turbo inlet has one or an additional connection for low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). There are versions where the connection is indicated but closed. Most versions have an additional outlet for the EGR.
Since this is not always clearly visible in vehicle images and parts drawings, we recommend sending the VIN or a photo of the original part for reliable identification in case of doubt.
When installing, it is advisable to work with a lift, as in some models, the retaining clip of the turbo inlet must be released from below.
