Note on resonating body:

With our turbo inlet, we deliberately omitted the standard resonance chamber to reduce turbulence. BMW added these resonance chambers to minimize intake and turbocharger noise. We aim to extract maximum performance from every component, thus also achieving a certain degree of sound optimization. This is particularly noticeable when the radiator grille is open. Additionally, we include a plug that is attached to the standard connecting and decoupling hose between the turbo inlet and the air filter housing to eliminate the additional resonance chamber. This optimizes airflow and results in a slight increase in the overall sound level.
