Turbo Inlet EA888 Gen 4 – Flow-Optimized Intake Component (MQB Evo)

The Turbo Inlet for EA888 Gen 4 engines was developed with a focus on optimized airflow in the intake area. A flow-optimized geometry and an enlarged cross-section ensure more uniform airflow towards the turbocharger.

Compared to the standard version, a significantly more homogeneous pressure distribution within the component is observed. Internal evaluations and simulations indicate a reduced pressure loss of up to 45% and an approximately 22% increased internal volume.

These characteristics can contribute to a more efficient operating range of the turbocharger, especially with adapted engine setups.


Flow Optimization & Technical Design

The geometry of the Turbo Inlet was developed based on fluid dynamic analyses, with the aim of minimizing turbulences and local pressure differences within the intake tract.

More uniform airflow can help the compressor operate under more consistent conditions. In externally supervised test environments, power gains of up to approximately 9 HP and 25 Nm were observed in conjunction with adapted software.

The results depend on the respective overall setup and serve as a reference value from test conditions.

Installation & Material

The Turbo Inlet is designed for use with original connection points and can be integrated into existing intake systems.

The component is manufactured using an additive manufacturing process from high-temperature resistant PA12 plastic, designed for the thermal and mechanical requirements in the engine compartment.

Each turbo inlet is manufactured using a specialized 3D printing process after ordering. The delivery time is currently up to 3 weeks to ensure the highest manufacturing quality and absolute fitting accuracy.

This product has no ABE, no parts certificate, and no parts type approval.

It is not approved for use on public roads within the scope of the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). Use is exclusively for motorsport purposes, for export vehicles, or outside public roads.

Installation of this product can lead to the expiration of the vehicle's operating license according to §19 StVZO.

An individual approval according to §21 StVZO (individual acceptance) may be possible in individual cases, but must be clarified in advance with a testing organization (e.g., TÜV or DEKRA).
