BMW N57 35d 313 hp Turbo Inlet – CFD-optimized air routing for the 313 hp diesel

Our turbo inlet for the BMW N57 35d with 313 hp was developed to specifically optimize the airflow before the turbocharger. Instead of simply enlarging the standard geometry, the airflow path was completely analyzed and bionically revised based on 3D data, CAD design, and flow simulations.

The result is a fluidically optimized geometry with approx. 20% lower pressure loss compared to the series inlet. At the same time, the design has an approx. 10% higher fluid volume.

Thus, the RevDop Turbo Inlet creates a more efficient airflow path to the turbocharger and reduces flow-related losses within the intake tract.

Developed based on data instead of feeling

At RevDop, development does not start with the finished product, but with the data.

Using 3D scanning, CAD design, and CFD simulation, we analyze the existing standard geometry and identify areas where unnecessary flow losses occur.

In the standard N57 inlet, unfavorable flow conditions are particularly evident in the transition and redirection areas. The RevDop geometry was therefore designed for the most controlled and uniform flow possible.

The result is a more efficient airflow with lower pressure loss.


20% less pressure loss – approx. 10% more fluid volume

The direct CFD comparison between the standard inlet and the RevDop Turbo Inlet clearly shows the differences.

Thanks to the revised geometry, the calculated pressure losses could be reduced by around 20%. At the same time, the fluid volume of the inlet was increased by about 10%.

The combination of lower pressure loss and optimized volume creates a more efficient flow path to the turbocharger.

Especially with a powerful diesel engine like the N57 35d with 313 hp, the most low-loss airflow possible is an important part of the entire intake system.


Bionic flow optimization

The geometry of the RevDop Turbo Inlet is based on bionic flow principles.

Instead of sharp transitions and abrupt changes in cross-section, the airflow path was deliberately smoothed and adapted to the actual flow requirements.

The aim was not to simply make the component larger, but to change the existing geometry where the flow is actually influenced.

Less pressure loss. More controlled flow. More efficient airflow.

This is precisely the difference between a simple replica part and a data-based developed RevDop component.


High-quality manufacturing from PA12

The turbo inlet is manufactured using an industrial 3D printing process from high-quality PA12.

The material enables complex, flow-optimized internal geometry and at the same time offers high dimensional stability for use in the engine compartment. The temperature resistance is 180 degrees, and the polyamide is very resistant to gasoline, oil, and chemicals.


Installation / Important notice

Caution during installation

The installation of this turbo inlet is more complex than with our more easily accessible N57 applications.

For installation, among other things:

  • the radiator fan must be removed
  • and a water line must be removed or disassembled and clamped off.
  • New coolant is required for refilling

Due to the required installation effort and the intervention in the cooling system area, we recommend having the installation carried out by a specialized workshop or by appropriately qualified personnel.

Please observe the vehicle-specific conditions before installation and use suitable measures to protect the cooling system during removal or installation.

No adjustment of the RevDop component itself is required – however, installation requires appropriate technical knowledge.

Each turbo inlet is manufactured after order in a specialized 3D printing process. The delivery time is currently up to 3 weeks to ensure the highest manufacturing quality and absolute fitting accuracy.

This product has no ABE, no parts certificate, and no part type approval.

It is not approved for use in public road traffic within the scope of the StVZO. Use is exclusively for motorsport purposes, for export vehicles, or outside public roads.

The installation of this product may lead to the expiration of the vehicle's operating license according to §19 StVZO.

An inspection according to §21 StVZO (individual approval) may be possible in individual cases, but must be clarified in advance with a testing organization (e.g., TÜV or DEKRA).
